Privacy
How we handle your information.
Plainly, and only as much as we need to answer you. Everything described here is what the site actually does — nothing is sold, and no one outside CARETTA sees it.
Who we are
This site is operated under the CARETTA brand by שטיחי טאפי 2002 בע"מ, company no. 513229633, Marconi 10, Haifa, Israel. That company is the owner of the database described here. For anything on this page: [email protected] or 04-8424262.
What we collect
Two things, different in kind. The first is what you type: when you use the enquiry form we receive your name, practice or company, email, phone, the model and area of interest, and any project notes. The second is what the site keeps on its own — an anonymous visitor identifier and the pages it was seen on. No name is attached to it. We do not know who you are until you tell us.
The visitor identifier
Choosing a floor takes weeks. People return three or four times — once from a phone, later from a desk — and a site that forgets between visits loses the shortlist, loses the model they kept coming back to, and starts the conversation from zero.
So the site stores one random identifier in your browser (caretta:vid): a string generated on your device, tied to no person. Beside it we record which pages were viewed, how long a model page held attention, and which requests the page offered. Names, emails, phone numbers and free text never travel with it — the code strips those fields before anything is sent, by rule rather than by promise.
Its purpose is stated and narrow: continuity across a long decision. It is not advertising, and it is not used to follow you anywhere else.
Cookies, and who else is in the room
No cookies — none for tracking, none for advertising, none at all. No analytics provider, no advertising network, no social pixel, no third-party script of any kind runs on this site. Nothing is handed to anyone for remarketing, and nothing is ever sold or rented. Events go to one endpoint, ours. That is the plain reason we can be this specific: there is no one else in the room.
What never leaves your browser
Your shortlist (caretta_shortlist_v1) and the panels you have dismissed are held on your device and are never sent to us. The queue of pending events (caretta:evq) waits there until it is delivered, then clears. The session identifier disappears when you close the tab.
Why we use it
The enquiry: to answer it — a quotation, the technical dossier, and following up about your project. The visit record: to understand which models draw attention, and so that a decision made over weeks is not restarted every time you come back. Nothing else.
The legal footing for each: the enquiry — your consent in sending the form, and our legitimate interest in replying to someone who asked us to; the visit record — our legitimate interest in a site that works across a long decision; marketing messages — your express, separate consent, and only if you ticked that box.
Where it goes
Your enquiry is recorded in our customer-relations system so a specifier can reply and nothing is lost. That system is operated for us by an external service provider whose servers are outside Israel, and the site itself is hosted by a provider whose servers are outside Israel. Neither uses your details for their own purposes; our agreement with them limits what they may do with the data and requires them to return or delete it when the engagement ends. Inside CARETTA it is seen only by the people who answer enquiries. We never sell or rent it, and we never pass it to anyone for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries: seven years where an enquiry became a customer, as the Income Tax Ordinance requires us to keep the records; three years where it did not, after which we delete it. Visit records: twenty-four months. After that they are aggregated — the identifier is dropped and only counts remain, which say which models drew attention and nothing about a person.
Marketing messages
We send updates — new models, technical notes — only to people who ticked the separate consent box on the form. The box is never ticked for you, ticking it is never a condition of getting an answer, and every message carries a way to stop. You can also just write to us and we will remove you.
Your rights, and two switches
You may ask to inspect what we hold about you (section 13 of the Privacy Protection Law), and to have it corrected if it is wrong, incomplete, unclear or out of date (section 14). Write to [email protected], or use the contact form and say so in the notes. It is handled by us directly.
The statutory clocks: inspection is given within 30 days of the request; a refusal to allow inspection is answered with reasons within 21 days; a refusal to correct is answered with reasons within 30 days.
Israeli law gives a right of correction rather than a general right of erasure — but if you ask us to delete an enquiry and there is no reason to keep it, we delete it.
Two things need no request at all — they work on this device, now:
The visit record is on for this browser.
Visitors from the European Union
This site is operated from Israel for the Israeli market. We do not direct it at the European Union — no prices, no European currency, no delivery to the EU and no version in an additional European language — so we do not consider the GDPR to apply. Either way, a request to inspect, correct or delete is handled as described above, without asking where you are.
