CHOOSING · IS THIS THE RIGHT FLOOR
ARCHITECTURAL POSITION
1018 is light and only gently warm — half a step off neutral, no more. Its use is the crossing: cool marble or stone at the threshold, and then a floor that takes the chill out of the room without turning cream or yellow. In light that arrives reflected rather than direct, that half-step is what separates a calm room from a cold one.
Where it works
- Interiors that open off a cool stone entrance or terrace
- Bedrooms and living rooms that should feel soft without going warm
- Pale schemes where a fully neutral floor would read grey
- Rooms lit indirectly — sea bounce, pale facades, reflected light
Where not to oversell it
Not for wet areas, standing water or as a ceramic replacement, and not solid timber. In a strictly cool, mineral scheme the warmth will be visible — this is not the neutral ground for that room.
